Zach Rosing Productions is pleased to offer 8mm and Super 8mm film transfer. Don't let decades old home movies slip away! We use professional-quality 3 CCD cameras for the highest picture quality. Our straightforward pricing makes the process simple, and we provide a variety of finishing options for your footage.

What formats do you convert?

  • We accept only 8mm and Super 8 film.
  • We cannot convert 16mm film.
  • We currently cannot convert the audio track of Super 8 films with sound. (We can still convert the film, but it will be silent.)
  • If you're looking for videotape conversion, please click here.

What does it cost?

We offer simple pricing with no hidden charges. There are two steps. Step one, we convert the film to digital format. Pricing for this service is based on reel size.

Reel Size Film Length Cost Per Reel
3" up to 50 ft. $10*
5" up to 200 ft. $20
6" up to 300 ft. $30
7" up to 400 ft. $40

*For 3" reels, the price drops to $7.50 after your first 10 reels.

There is a $30 minimum order.

Step two is finishing. We can provide your footage as a video file on a hard drive, or burn it to DVD.

  • Bring us an empty external hard drive. Your footage will be saved as an AVI file with the DV codec, playable and editable on any Windows or Mac PC. This service is optional and is provided at no additional cost.
  • If you want a DVD copy, all your footage is burned at a cost of $10 per DVD. We can fit up to 2 hours of footage on one DVD, so even if you have 10 3 minute reels, you only pay for one DVD.
  • Additional copies are available for only $5 a piece.

We accept check or cash in person. To pre-pay with a credit card or PayPal, click here.

Sounds great! Now what?

  • Print out a copy of our order form, so we know how to label your DVD. This is professionally printed right on the DVD--no stick-on labels!
  • We're located in downtown Zionsville, IN. We don't have set hours, but are often available during the day and some evenings/weekends. The best plan is to call or text when you'd like to stop by, and if we aren't free we'll find a time that works. Call (317) 721-6772, email mail@zachrosing.com, or chat via AIM.
  • Please inquire about our current turnaround time.
  • You will be asked to sign our Limited Liability Agreement before we can accept your films. It's on Page 2 of the order form. Click here to read it.

Other Services

  • Add music to your finished DVDs at no additional cost! Simply provide us a CD or audio files of the music you'd like added in the background. We extract the provided audio as-is, so please make sure your files are edited and in the order you want them to play on the DVD. We will loop your music if necessary.
  • We will keep an archive copy of your DVD at our office for $10 per DVD. Copies can then be ordered from this archive at any time for $5 per copy, which we will mail to you at no extra cost.

The Fine Print...

We cannot convert 16mm film or the audio track of Super 8 sound films.

We do not provide any sort of film cleaning, repair or restoration services. If your film breaks, we will tape it back together (and it usually continues playing just fine.)

We cannot develop unprocessed film (film still in a cartridge).

DVDs contain chapter marks every 5 minutes and at each new film reel. We currently don't offer custom menus.

Out-of-the-ordinary requests may be priced differently.
